We have conceived this biking holiday, as a succession of encounters: with an exquisite natural environment, with a rich cultural and historical heritage, with a region of exceptional quality, and with others who appreciate this great river. 3 days of cycling along the Loire of the isles. We felt that this should be not just a series of bike rides but rather like a ramble with time to explore places and meet people along the way.
And through scenery of such great biodiversity, you may also learn how to recognise beaver tracks, the flight of storks, terns and egrets, the silhouette of a fox or an otter...

The Loire Nature Reserve
The Loire Nature Reserve is situated pretty much half-way along the Loire which stretches over 1000 km from its source in the Cévennes to the Atlantic Ocean. The reserve is 19 km long, from La Charité-sur-Loire to Tracy-sur-Loire (department of Nièvre, right bank), and from La Chapelle-Montlinard to Couargues (left bank, department of Cher). White water, sandbanks, wooded isles, multiple boat channels, stagnant waters, alluvial forest, dry grasslands, ...these varied environments, modelled by the river, harbour a vast variety of flora and fauna. To ensure the protection of this biological diversity, the most representative sector of the "Loire des isles" was listed as a nature reserve in 1995. Apart from its strictly regulatory role, the Reserve is also a management tool for the conservation and restoration of this rich natural environment which it strives to introduce to a broad public...
