Way up above our heads is the Mont Ventoux (1909 metres), the “Géant de Provence” that cyclists the world over fear and respect. But there are also innumerable little roads which run hither and thither, weaving their way over the lower slopes of the mountain for the delight of cyclists whose pleasure is to enjoy the countryside, rather than imitate those other giants of the Tour de France…
Small winding roads link vineyards, olive groves, orchards and fields of lavender. Along the way, cyclists plying their passage through the heart of this austere yet lovely limestone countryside can explore typical villages which surprise by their charm and character.
Every day there’s a different outing with new places and faces to see. Every evening there’s a friendly welcome and a table set with dishes of the ever-inventive Provençal cuisine.

Le Mont Ventoux
1909 metres high, the Mont Ventoux has borne much the same name since the 1st or 2nd century, perhaps from “Vintur”, a god of the summits, or the Celtic Ven-Top, meaning “snowy peak”.
From the summit, the entire “Provincia Romana” may be seen stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to the Rhône and the Alps.
The horizon is immense, making this one of Europe’s finest panoramas.
On the heights, the almost lunar landscape contains phenomenal flora and fauna. 120 different bird species nest on the mountain, and you might whilst cycling come across a boar, a fox, a wild sheep of Corsica, a deer or a dashing hare!
