These walks have been carefully chosen to ensure an intimate rendez-vous with the flavours and perfumes of Drôme Provençale. Wander along little-known paths which weave through vineyards, peach, apricot and cherry orchards, truffle oaks and lime trees. Then high on a hill, breathe in that inimitable scent drifting across a field of lavender. Explore the delightful Provençal villages along the way, and linger in the shade of leafy paths, in unspoilt nature bathed in the intense light of the south.
A holiday full of colours and scents, whatever the season, where your hosts will welcome you with becoming warmth.

Did you say Lavender, or...?
You may have realised that there is lavender, and then there’s lavender…in fact, there are around 30 varieties, although but only three are common in France.
“Lavandula Stoechas” (marine lavender) grows wild around the Mediterranean, but is no longer cultivated as it once was – exclusively - in the Middle Ages.
“Lavandula Latifolia” (aspic lavender) grows wild in the south of France from about 800 metres.
“Lavandula Angustifolia” (‘true lavender’) is cultivated in France. It may also be found growing wild in the dry mountain areas of the south usually above 800 metres.
As for “Lavandula X hydrida” (which the French call "lavendin") this is a natural hybrid of true and aspic lavenders. Generally sterile, it can however be grown from cuttings. It is also found growing wild alongside other varieties between 600 and 800 metres.
