Presentation

The young volcanoes of the Ardèche and the Ardèche Nature Park provide the perfect natural setting in which to relax.
You’ll love the judicious combination of pleasant walks and fitness care in a spa whose existence goes back to the Roman era.
Hydrotherapy was highly developed in the Ardèche in the XIX and XX centuries, owing its existence, then as now, to the erstwhile volcanic activity in the region. This same activity also gave rise to the grandiose sculptural scenery so typical of the area.

Note: This tour requires to have a car to join the various hikes.

You'll love

  • the volcanic scenery of southern Ardèche
  • gourmet dinners in a fine restaurant specialising in local dishes
  • carefully chosen and varied walks
  • the envigorating programme called 'Aquavolupté' - jet shower, bubble bath with essential oils, body modelling...

Program : Wellness and walks in Ardeche

  • D1 From Neyrac - around the volcano of Souilhol

9.3 km with total uphill 442m (level 2/5, duration about 3hrs)

A remarkable walk wherein you see the power of nature and the hand of man come together.
Enjoy fine views from the volcano (inactive!) of Souilhol, as well as the Ardèche and Lignon rivers.
As time passes you'll walk along the typical Cevenol tracks cut into the mountain by our ancestors or built thanks to impressive feats of engineering.

Access to swimming pool, spa and hammam

Dinner at the fine restaurant and night at the 3 star residence.

  • D2 From Neyrac- Meyras by the Via Domitius

    5.6 km with total uphill 200 m (level 1/5, around 2hrs)

Easy walk along ancient Cevenol paths which have linked Meyras and Neyrac since the Roman era. The stone sets of these paths still impress the visitor. Meyras is a village dating from mediaeval times and listed as a "village de caractère". The castle of Hautségur.

Access to pool, spa and hammam
"Aquavolupté" jet shower, foaming bath with essential oils, body modelage, fine clay body wrap

Dinner at the fine restaurant and night at the 3 star residence.

  • D3 Starting from Thueyts - from the Devil's Bridge to the Giants' Causeway!

    5 km, total uphill 270 m (level 1/5, about 2hrs)
    Variant : 2 km with total uphill 100 m (level 1/5, 1h)

This walk features typical Cevenol landscapes with bridges at impressive heights! You go over the Pont du Diable famous for its legend, then on to the local Giants' Causeway, This soaring cliff bears witness to the geological wealth of the region with its vertiginous outcrop of basalt on which Thueyts village was established.

Access to swimming pool, spa and hammam

Dinner at the fine restaurant and night at the 3 star residence.

  • D4 Starting from Pont de Labeaume - Around Niègles, the eagles' nest

    8 km with total uphill 230 m (level 2/5, time around 3h).

Mountains above and refreshing rivers below, chestnut stands, earth terraces...the route proposed here offers magnificent views over a varied landscape bathed in that special Provençal sunshine. Historic remains everywhere. You go along paths following ancient paved ways, to come to the villages of Niègles (notable church) and Leyronnac.

Access to pool, spa and hammam
"Aquavolupté" jet shower, foaming bath with essential oils, body modelage, fine clay body wrap

Dinner at the fine restaurant and night at the 3 star residence.

  • D5 Starting from Jaujac - the volcano of Jaujac

    4.6 km with total uphill 150m (level2/5, duration about 1hr 40)

On this walk, you'll get a better understanding of the volcanic nature of the Cevennes region. You go round the ridges of the volcano then enjoy the paths through the undergrowth which make this stroll very pleasant when the weather is hot.

Access to swimming pool, spa and hammam

Dinner at the fine restaurant and night at the 3 star residence.

  • D6 Jaujac - the basaltic flow

    8 km with total uphill 370 m (level 2/5, around 3hrs)

This walk takes us back several centuries as it leads us along the paved paths so typical of the Cevennes whose steep slopes held no fear for the villagers climbing back up to their hamlets "lost" in the mountains.
Ideal walk to explore the basaltic flows of Jaujac where the river Lignon has carved out its bed.

Access to pool, spa and hammam
"Aquavolupté" jet shower, foaming bath with essential oils, body modelage, fine clay body wrap

Dinner at the fine restaurant and night at the 3 star residence.

  • D7 Starting from Fabras - farms and castles of the Cévennes

    7.3 km with total uphill 240 m (level 2/5, time about 3h)

Easy walk accross farmland. The farms are often no longer worked, but they preserve clear signs of their former activity. Broad open countryside around the castle.

Access to swimming pool, spa and hammam

Dinner at the fine restaurant and night at the 3 star residence.

  • D8 Starting from Chirols - the Mont Sainte Marguerite

    12 km with total uphill 720 m (level 4/5, time around 4hrs 50 mins)

Wonderful walk with exceptional views. St Marguerite's Mount is one of the highest summits in this region of young volcanoes, a veritable watch tower over this part of the Cevennes. You won't fail to notice the typical vegetation at these altitudes, with chestnut trees, pine and broom.
