THE SAFRANTOURS TEAM

Travel enthusiasts behind every itinerary

Safrantours is above all a story of passionate people. Individuals brought together by a love of paths, landscapes, and encounters.

Each person, in their own way, helps to imagine itineraries that come to life with the seasons. Some design the routes, others support travelers in their choices, manage bookings, refine details, or prepare departures.

Behind every journey are different perspectives, experiences, and sensibilities. They are what give Safrantours trips their unique character.

The company has been built step by step, around a shared intention: to take the time to do things well, to nurture genuine relationships with the territories and with those who bring them to life.

Hervé

Herve site.jpg

Founder of Safrantours, Hervé is a walker before he is a director. A man of the field, of landscapes, of encounters. He created Safrantours as one builds a refuge, with patience and care. The company still bears his imprint: artisanal, human, and sensitive.

A certified mountain guide, he has long roamed the trails where ideas are born. At heart, he remains a man of the field—a director who knows every itinerary, every host, every path that maps sometimes overlook.

His view on travel ⏷

He has a gift for finding that little something that changes everything. A hidden path around a ridge, a room perched in a cabin, a restaurant where crouton soup is still served like at home—these small “treasures” enrich each of his itineraries.

His extra touch ⏷

He’s the one behind the haikus that appear on our Instagram feed. His gaze finds wonder in a light, a branch, a silence. He often says that nature speaks to him in a low voice. Whether it’s true or not, it’s easy to believe.

His favorite Safrantours trip ⏷

The Drôme by bike, of course. His first paths are there, among the hills and the light of his childhood. “You never forget the roads that saw you grow up,” he says.

What Hervé takes on a trip ⏷

A notebook, a pencil, and emptiness—so the landscape has time to reveal itself. When asked what he prefers to do along the way, he answers, “walk alongside someone who is smiling. You move forward better.”

Yvann

Yvann Baussanne site.jpg

From a very young age, perched on his father’s shoulders, Yvann discovered another way of traveling—where time stretches out to feel the landscapes, nurture curiosity, and allow encounters to unfold.

It is in this spirit that he continues the Safrantours adventure today: offering the possibility to travel differently, by taking the time to move through places and fully immerse oneself in them.

Preserving this freedom to imagine new paths, far from the frenzy of always more.

His view on travel ⏷

For Yvann, travel begins with a curious gaze—the one you cast on the landscapes you pass through when you slow your pace. The kind that allows you to absorb a place, understand its history, and meet those who live there. Travel becomes an immersion, a way of discovering a place, even for just a few days.

His extra touch ⏷

For Yvann, Safrantours is like a home he grew up in. Deeply attached to the people who make it what it is, he nurtures sincere relationships with both the team and partners. Safrantours is above all a living house, a shared story where everyone finds their place.

His favorite Safrantours trip ⏷

“If I had to choose just one, it would be from Rennes to Mont-Saint-Michel by bike. It’s on these paths that my daughter first learned to pedal and discovered a love for cycling adventures.”

What Yvann takes on a trip ⏷

Digital or folded, there is always a map in his pocket. Drawing an itinerary often begins there, before feeling the path unfold beneath your feet.

Caroline

Caroline site.jpg

Caroline is one of those who has known the company for a long time. Over the years, she has seen its paths, its travelers, and its ways of working evolve.

She supports the partner agencies that offer our trips. She listens, exchanges, and advises, but what she loves most about this work are the encounters and the connections that gradually take shape over time.

Her view on travel ⏷

For Caroline, travel often begins with a simple gesture: stepping away from everyday life. Leaving behind the usual rhythm, letting go of habits, and opening up space to see things differently. Landscapes change, cultures meet, and perspectives are renewed.

Her extra touch ⏷

Caroline places great importance on the quality of the relationships she maintains with agencies and partners. Her ease in switching from one language to another makes exchanges natural and warm. A discreet and attentive way of supporting journeys even before they begin.

Her favorite Safrantours trip ⏷

“The Pink Granite Coast. The rocks with their surprising shapes, the beaches open to the sea, the light that changes throughout the day, and the warm welcome from the hosts. Not to mention the delicious meals that punctuate the days of walking.”

What Caroline takes on a trip ⏷

In her bag, there is always a water bottle filled with water. A simple, almost obvious object. Because you never know if the path might stretch a little longer, at the gentle pace of the wind and the walk.

Romain

Romain site.jpg

Romain is involved in every stage of our trips, from their design to their launch. He enjoys imagining routes as much as walking them. For him, drawing a path is already the beginning of a journey. And when he heads out into the field, it is always with the curiosity to discover a place, a trail, or an encounter that will make him want to return.

His view on travel ⏷

For Romain, travel often begins with a map spread out on the table and an idea of a route to draw. In his view, traveling does not necessarily mean going far away. He is convinced that the most unexpected horizons are often close to home, in those landscapes we pass through without really seeing them.

Walking and cycling are his best travel companions. They slow the pace, open the gaze, and give time for the moment to settle in.

His little extra ⏷

Sometimes in the office imagining new routes, sometimes out on the itineraries to test them, or with our hosts meeting those who welcome our travelers, Romain knows each route down to the smallest detail.

Creating new destinations, bringing a trip to life, handling bookings, or passing on his expertise to new team members, Romain is everywhere and always enthusiastic. He is also the one who, before each departure, carefully prepares the travel file and the personalized app that guide our travelers step by step.

His favorite Safrantours trip ⏷

“It’s hard to choose with so many paths, but if I had to keep just one, I would say the Vercors on foot—for its mountain spirit, its wild landscapes, and those typical accommodations that give the journey its character.”

The perfect terrain for someone who also enjoys trail running.

What Romain takes on a trip ⏷

A camera.

Romain doesn’t consider himself a great photographer, but he enjoys capturing fragments of landscape, an evening light, a path disappearing behind a ridge. Simple images that he then shares with his loved ones, as a way of extending the journey.

Karine

Karine site.jpg

Guardian of the balance of the Safrantours house, Karine works with numbers as others do with paths. Behind the tables and financial statements, she moves projects forward as one prepares for their next trip.

Her view on travel ⏷

For Karine, traveling is first and foremost a way to step away from everyday life. It is about taking the time to discover a region through its landscapes, its flavors, and its details. She values those simple moments and precious experiences that travel makes possible, especially when they are shared with loved ones.

Her little extra ⏷

Karine has a particularly sharp eye for detail. A misplaced number never stays that way for long. She is the hidden ace up the sleeve. She discreetly and precisely watches over the balance of the company. A valuable attention that allows the whole team to move forward with peace of mind.

Her favorite Safrantours trip ⏷

The trip to Royan and Oléron holds a special place in my heart. I spent all my childhood holidays in Royan. That’s where I learned to swim, to feel the sea and the sand beneath my feet. Later, I discovered Oléron, which captivated me with its varied landscapes, its boats moored in the harbor, its long beaches, and its ever-changing sky. In spring, when migratory birds cross the island, the light there becomes almost unreal.

What Karine takes on a trip ⏷

In her bag, there are always two essentials: her sunglasses and her sleeping bag liner. One to see clearly during the day, the other to find rest at night.

Virginie

Virginie site.jpg

Virginie is often the first voice you encounter at Safrantours. On the phone or behind an email, she welcomes, listens, advises, reassures, and helps each person find the itinerary that suits them.

She stands alongside travelers at the moment when the outline of a journey begins to take shape, when desires turn into possible paths. She likes to describe herself as a dream maker—a definition that suits her well.

Her view on travel ⏷

Virginie grew up barefoot in the arid landscapes of Morocco alongside Berber communities. It was during this childhood that she shaped her view of the world and developed her sensitivity to difference—along with a curiosity that has never left her.

“Other cultures, the transformation of landscapes, the treasures of Nature made me want to travel the world in search of other differences. Creating new reference points opens both the mind and the heart. Whether near or far, travel makes you humble.”

Her little extra ⏷

At Safrantours, Virginie naturally extends these experiences she has made her own. She nurtures her passion for discovery and shares it in turn. With a deep knowledge of the itineraries and a keen understanding of travelers’ expectations, she takes the time to describe destinations with honesty—as she has seen and experienced them—with their nuances, landscapes, and people.

A simple and sincere way to inspire others to set off, step by step.

Her favorite Safrantours trip ⏷

“Choosing just one trip is never easy, but if I had to share only one, it would be Belle-Île-en-Mer. The wild beauty of the landscapes, the trees shaped by storms, the powerful wind, and the endless sea. A crystal-clear sea that calls you to swim even on bad-weather days. Walking all the way around the island creates a rare feeling that still moves me just thinking about it.”

What Virginie takes on a trip ⏷

In her bag, there is almost always a travel journal, filled with notes, sensations, and memories. But above all, there is a peeler or a small knife that she never takes back with her.

She has made it a habit—almost a ritual—to leave it along the way for the person who will want or need it most. Through this simple gesture, she leaves behind a discreet trace in the hearts of those she meets.

Sandrine

Sandrine site.jpg

The most recent addition to the Safrantours family, Sandrine already has many travel stories behind her. Passionate about nature and hiking, she is drawn to paths that take their time.

The kind that allow you to discover a landscape at a slow pace and to stop whenever you feel like it. This is the spirit she has found at Safrantours and that she is eager to share today.

Her view on travel ⏷

For Sandrine, traveling does not necessarily mean going far away. She enjoys one-day adventures just as much as those that change a life. She likes to say that the most beautiful getaways can begin just a few kilometers from home.

A path you have never taken before, a valley glimpsed from the road, an impromptu walk on a sunny morning. Travel often begins there, in these simple discoveries that open the eyes.

Her little extra ⏷

Sandrine brings with her a fresh perspective and a genuine curiosity for both the team and the travelers. She observes, asks questions, makes suggestions, and quickly found her place within the company. Her natural optimism readily paves the way for new projects.

Her favorite Safrantours trip ⏷

“It’s difficult for me to choose, as the destinations are so numerous and fascinating. But the mountains hold a special place, so I would say the routes of the Vercors, the landscapes of the Queyras, or the wide-open spaces of the Larzac and the Cirque de Navacelles. These are territories where you walk for a long time, with the feeling that the horizon ahead never truly ends.”

What Sandrine takes on a trip ⏷

In her bag, there is almost always an Opinel. A simple and reliable knife, perfect for sharing a picnic in the mountains or by the water at any moment, whenever the urge arises.
