Presentation
Gently guided by the Rhône river, you will explore France's rich gastronomy and history, following the tracks of this river, a genuine pathway of civilisations that stretches back over 2,000 years.
The ViaRhôna is a safe, gently sloping cycle route that has successfully achieved the ambitious project of linking the shores of Lake Léman in the heart of the Alps to the Mediterranean coast.
For this tour, we have selected one of the most beautiful segments: the route between the hillsides of Condrieu and Montélimar at the gateway to Provence.
At each stage, you will discover new landscapes along the famous Côtes du Rhône vineyards, which will open the doors to their terroir.
This trip will also delight your taste buds with the delicious Valrhôna chocolates, the famous Montélimar nougats and, of course, the region's great wines.
As the afternoon slowly fades away, you arrive at Les Roches-de-Condrieu, a peaceful setting nestled in a bend of the Rhône River, south of Lyon. Here, the first night offers a tête-à-tête with the river: watching it flow is like starting your journey.
Dinner and overnight stay in a 3* hotel with a majestic view over the Rhône river.
And for those who wish to start the adventure a little earlier, a stopover in Lyon — the former capital of Gaul — can be organised as a prelude to your journey.
D2
From Les Roches de Condrieu to Tournon sur Rhône
57 km stage - Minimal elevation gain - Estimated duration: 4 hours
In the morning, hop on your bike and let the wind guide you south along the ViaRhôna, which winds its way between Drôme and Ardèche.
The Rhône, your faithful companion, nourishes the land where orchards, vegetable gardens and vineyards flourish. The ride carries on along the left bank, in the heart of wine producing country: in front of you, the Rhône valley stretches out, blending greenery, light and silence. Here, Hermitage offers you its AOC wine as a promise of pleasure after your efforts.
And for food lovers, the Cité du Chocolat is a delicious stopover that will take you back to your childhood.
Dinner and overnight stay in a 3* hotel in the centre of Tournon.
D3
From Tournon sur Rhône to Loriol
59 km stage - Minimal elevation gain - Estimated duration: 4 hours
Still following the river, you cycle to Valence, whose historic centre is definitely worth a visit before heading on to Loriol. Already, a warm breeze from the south floats in the air: the scent of the Mediterranean, a foretaste of Provence.
On the left bank, the vineyards gradually give way to fruit trees that peacefully watch over your progress.
Dinner and overnight stay in a 3* hotel with swimming pool.
D4
From Loriol to Montélimar
41 km stage - Minimal elevation gain - Estimated duration: 3 hours
This new stage runs along the right bank, on the Ardèche side. You enter the heart of Vivarais, a land of art and history where monuments and authentic villages stand proudly side by side.
As you stroll through the peaceful narrow streets lined with stone houses, time seems to slow down. Then Montélimar, the city of nougat, appears, where the Allées Provençales welcome you under their hundred-year-old plane trees.
Dinner at your leisure and overnight stay in a 3* hotel in the heart of Montélimar.

Very good service. Fair value for money.
Itinéraire varié, pittoresque, souvent sauvage et en plus gastronomique. Echanges chaleureux avec les organisateurs de l'agence.
Premières vacances en vélo. Super agréable la ViaRhôna. Vacances loin de la foule.
